Land Rovers are known as cars that can go everywhere! True very true.

Most of common problems comes down to a few categories:

1. Air suspension problems on Range Rovers 1996-2002 - Leaking struts, bad solenoid unit or pump. Special tools are required to diagnose EAS problems. Usually repair comes down to replacement of struts or pump. Solenoid block can be repaired and 95% of times we are successfully repairing it - that saves lots of $$$

2. Oil leaks on Discovery series and Range Rovers up to 2002 - Valve covers are leaking oil - repair requires removal and reinstallation of intake manifold plenum - it is good time to replace ignition wires as they are accessible with intake plenum removed. Also oil pan is leaking often together with oil filter housing.

3. Check engine light - comes for various reasons. Proper diagnostics is required to determine cause for CEL to go on.

4.Overheating - all Land Rovers eventually will go hot - radiator, water pump or intake manifold may leak coolant causing overheating. Proper pressure test is required to determine weak spots in cooling system.

5. Range Rovers 2002-up - as you probably know 2002-2005 Range Rovers HSE are made by BMW. They have common problems as all BMW cars have. Air suspension sometimes goes bad and usually Air struts are the cause.

6 Land Rovers 2006-up are made by Ford Motor Company. Lots of improvement on those and not too much to worry about...
