Transmisson repair is a difficutl task that requires experience and knowledge. Most of traditional automatic transmissions using electro - hydraulic mechanism with clutches and bands. Hydraulic system is operating clutches and by applying them proper gear is choosen.

Common problem on automatic transmisison is clutch wear. Worn clutch plates slips when engaged and does not provide torque transfer and further no gear is engaged properly.

Remember that transmission service is a key for its long life - transmissions have filter inside and fluid who has to be replaced frequently. BY doing service you extend transmission life even when it is not recommended by factory. Transmission fluid gets contaminated and deteriorated and even if it says transmission fluid is lifetime we do recommend replacing it toghether with filter. Just imagine washing your hands in the same water for a few years?? Fresh fluid and filter improves shifting quality and definately extends transmission live.

CVT transmissions are used lately by auto manufacturers like Audi, Mini, Nissan ant others.

CVT is acronym to Constatn Velocity Transmisson - in other meaning it has infinit amount of gears. Ride is smooth and you do not feel "shifting" as ratio is changed smoothly without steps.
